I’m so happy to be able to say I have been nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by the amazing yuulye! I’m so grateful for the support and really encourage anyone looking for a good read to check out his blog. This means a lot – thanks again!

Rules

  • Thank blogger(s) who nominated you in the blog post and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

1 What can I call you? (real/internet name)

You can call me Kitty

2 What does it mean?

It’s an abbreviation of my ‘real’ name that I’m not really a fan of

3 What is your site name?

a strange way of life

4 What does it mean?

It’s a reference to an amazing quote by Richard Wright:

“If I were a member of the class that rules…The millions that I would fear are those who do not dream of the prizes that the nation holds forth, for it is in them, though they may not know it, that a revolution has taken place and is biding its time to translate itself into a new and strange way of life”

5 What is your blog description?

I describe my blog as ‘anything and everything’, though am looking to change that as it is hopelessly unspecific! Really I wanted a way of saying that I like to talk about a wide range of topics, sometimes giving an opinion, entertaining a thought process or reflecting on something that made me think.

6 How important is it for you a blog description?

For me personally it’s not hugely important though I am aware that it is helpful for readers to know what you’re about.

7 When did you start blogging?

I started blogging earlier this year as a way of putting my thoughts down somewhere and trying to put them into some sort of cohesive form in an attempt to improve my writing.

8 What kind of content do you like to read from a blog? (Music, humor, religion, tech, tips, or something like that with explanation)

Honestly, my taste in blogs is a little like my blog description – ‘anything and everything’ – though I am particularly interested in social commentary, philosophy and religion.

9 What does like mean to you?

What does ‘like’ mean to me? Probably when someone is really interested and engaged in something, be it a book, blog or even a TV show

10 What does comment mean to you?

Comment…I’d say that covers a range of things, it being both a verb and a noun. Though it can be as simple as putting a couple of words down, it can also be something really meaningful depending on the context. In that sense there is an ambiguity there, a flexibility that I love.

11 Create a question on your own and answer it!

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? I would have to say peanut butter!

Now, for their inspiring work, I nominate:

  1. psychologistmimi
  2. Reclaiming My Time
  3. Above The Storm
  4. Niki Meadows
  5. kalifornicationx.wordpress.com
  6. black-burgundy
  7. whenwomeninspire.com
  8. broadsideblog
  9. Theo B.
  10. LADYHOOD

And for the questions:

What inspired you to write?

What continues to motivate you?

Do you have any particular ambitions?

What kind of content do you look for in a blog?

Do you have a favourite book or author?

If so, what is it that makes it special?

Are you optimistic about the future?

Why do you consider writing to be an important act?

If you could have dinner with one person, living or dead, who would it be?

Why?

What is the most significant lesson experience has taught you?

Thank you!
